Erienta

User Guide & Support

How to use Erienta, manage reminders and backups, and troubleshoot common issues.

What Erienta Is

Erienta is an iPhone-first task and reminder app designed to keep everyday errands, appointments, obligations, and future tasks organized by date and priority.

The app centers on a simple workflow:

  1. Add a task.
  2. Choose its date and, if needed, a specific time.
  3. Assign a category and priority.
  4. Use the calendar views to see what is coming.
  5. Mark completed tasks as finished.
  6. Review completed items later in History.

Erienta also includes reminder controls, selectable priority notification sounds, backup/export tools, iCloud backup support, and English/Spanish language switching.

Adding a Task

Tap Add to create a new task.

A task can include:

  • Title
  • Date
  • Time (optional)
  • Category
  • Priority
  • Reminder timing
  • Notes

Every task needs a date.

Time is optional. If no time is selected, the task is Anytime. Use Clear if you want to remove a selected time and return the task to Anytime.

Choose a category and priority, add notes if useful, and tap Save.

If you try to leave after making unsaved changes, Erienta can ask whether you want to keep editing or discard those changes.

Open and Manage a Task

Tap a task to open its details.

From Task Detail you can:

  • Edit — change the title, date, time, category, priority, or notes.
  • Tomorrow — move the task to the next day.
  • Mark done — complete the task and move it to History.
  • Delete — permanently remove the task after confirmation.

If you edit a task and try to leave without saving, Erienta protects the unsaved changes with a confirmation.

Priorities

Normal is for regular tasks.

Important is for tasks that need stronger attention and reminder behavior.

Top Priority is for your most critical tasks and includes an additional one-time follow-up after the due reminder when the task is still unhandled.

Use Important and Top Priority selectively so they remain meaningful.

Reminder Timing

Reminder timing applies to Important and Top Priority tasks. Normal tasks do not use priority phone reminders.

Depending on the reminder timing you choose, Erienta can include:

  • same day only
  • 1 day before + same day
  • 3 days before + 1 day before + same day
  • 7 days before + 3 days before + 1 day before + same day

The 7-day and 3-day stages are silent. The 1-day and due stages use sound.

For a task with a specific time, the 1-day reminder uses the same local clock time on the previous day and the due reminder uses the task’s selected time.

For an Anytime task, the 1-day reminder and due reminder use 9:00 AM.

Tapping a phone notification can open the related task in Erienta.

Top Priority Follow-Up

A Top Priority task can receive one additional reminder about 15 minutes after the due reminder if the task is still unhandled.

There is only one follow-up; it does not repeat continuously.

Opening and handling the task in Erienta, completing it, deleting it, moving it to another date, changing it away from Top Priority, or turning Phone Notifications off prevents or cancels the pending follow-up.

Simply dismissing the iPhone notification banner without opening or handling the task does not count as handling it.

In-App Alerts and Phone Notifications

These are two different controls in Settings → Reminders.

In-app alerts control the Important and Top Priority alert rows shown on Main. Turning them off does not delete or hide your tasks from Today, Week, Month, or Year.

Phone notifications control scheduled iPhone reminders.

The 7-day and 3-day Main alert stages can be acknowledged by opening the related alert row. Later reminder stages can still appear when they become due.

If Erienta is already open when a sounded phone reminder fires, you may hear the sound without seeing a normal iOS notification banner. That is expected foreground behavior.

Notification Sounds

Erienta includes Sound 1 through Sound 6.

In Settings → Reminders, you can choose one sound for Important tasks and a different sound for Top Priority tasks.

The default for both is Sound 1. Use Preview to hear a sound before choosing it.

The Top Priority follow-up uses the selected Top Priority sound.

History

When you tap Mark done, the task leaves the active task views and moves to History.

History lets you review completed tasks by date and search for completed items.

Completed tasks are normally kept for 400 days.

Use Keep for a completed item you want to preserve beyond the normal retention period. Unkeep removes that protection.

Deleting a task from History permanently removes that completed item.

Settings

Settings includes:

  • Display Name — the name shown in Erienta. If left empty, the default is Erienta.
  • Language — English or Español.
  • Theme — Honey, Navy, Green, or Burgundy.
  • Reminders — in-app alerts, phone notifications, and priority sounds.
  • Data & Backup — export, import, automatic backup status, and restore tools.
  • Help & User Guide — the in-app guide.

When you change the app language, the in-app Help & User Guide changes to the same language automatically. There is no separate language setting for Help.

Data & Backup

Export Backup

Use Export backup to create a JSON copy of your Erienta data.

A normal filename looks like erienta-backup-YYYY-MM-DD.json.

You can save or share the file using the iPhone share sheet.

Import Backup

Import can replace the data currently stored in Erienta.

Erienta first lets you review the backup and then asks for confirmation before replacing current data. Read the confirmation carefully.

If Undo Last Import is available after an import, you can use it to return to the data that existed immediately before that import.

Automatic iCloud Backup

When automatic backup is available and enabled, Erienta can save an iCloud snapshot after eligible local changes are successfully stored.

Automatic backup does not silently restore or replace your current data.

Manual iCloud Restore

Restore is a separate action that you start yourself. Erienta asks for confirmation before replacing current data with the available iCloud backup.

For extra protection, it is a good idea to keep an occasional exported backup in addition to automatic iCloud backup.

Using Erienta Efficiently

  1. Add tasks as soon as you know about them.
  2. Use a specific time only when the task truly has one.
  3. Use Important and Top Priority selectively so they remain meaningful.
  4. Check Today for immediate work.
  5. Use Week and Month to plan ahead.
  6. Use Year for distant obligations.
  7. Mark tasks complete when finished.
  8. Use Keep in History only for completed items you want retained long-term.
  9. Leave automatic backup enabled when you want ongoing iCloud protection.
  10. Keep occasional exported backup files for an additional independent copy.

If a Reminder Does Not Appear

  1. Open Settings → Reminders and make sure Phone notifications are on.
  2. In iPhone Settings, make sure notifications are allowed for Erienta.
  3. Confirm that the task is Important or Top Priority if you expect a priority phone reminder.
  4. Check the task’s date, time, and reminder timing.
  5. For an Anytime task, remember that the 1-day and due reminders use 9:00 AM.
  6. If Erienta was open when the reminder fired, you may hear the sound without seeing an iOS banner.

If you recently changed notification permission in iPhone Settings, reopen Erienta and check the reminder settings again.

Time Zones

Erienta’s timed reminders are designed around local clock time.

If you travel to another time zone, your iPhone may update its local time automatically. For important upcoming tasks, open Erienta after the time-zone change and review the date and time so you know exactly when you expect the reminder.

Data Safety Basics

  • Keep automatic iCloud backup enabled if you use it.
  • Occasionally create an exported JSON backup.
  • Do not delete your only backup copy.
  • Review import and restore confirmations before proceeding.
  • Use Undo Last Import promptly if you imported the wrong backup and the option is available.
